The instructor will give students the following guidelines to keep in mind during each step of the lab: All pipettes and vials need to be cleaned using 2 part soap and water. Treat lids as if they are made of silver.Cleanse lids with a towel and place in a proper single use container. Place in a Ziploc bag if possible. Do not use samplers to transfer liquids to/from tubes and vials; use a pipet or Pasteur pipet. These are available from any biology supply store. Avoid contaminating any instrument with other solutions or materials.

The equipment must be arranged in a specific sequence to ensure the cleanest environment possible.
